The sepals are much paler here, making it a bitone but in photos from the USA the whole flower appears to have the lighter colouring as it gets 'bleached' by the sun. We prefer it as it grows here and it is one of our favourites. Some rebloom which is always welcome.

Smoky Mountain Autumn
(Guidry 1986) If there was one daylily we could not do without, this could be the one. A rich blend of autumnal colours, best described as a coppery rose pink with an olive green throat. Height: 24"(61cm). Flower: 3.5"(9cm)
Price: £5
Jan Kay
(Wyers 2006) The petals are a soft pink with light cream midribs and the sepals are a light creamy pink. This seedling was a real bonus as a plant friend had really liked a daylily in an American catalogue years ago which was very tender and looked very similar to this seedling which has proved to be pretty tough. I had to name this after my special plant friend. It produces lots of flowers when it becomes a small clump making it a good focal point in the border. Tonia Gay was in the parentage of this very pretty daylily.
